President and CEO of United Way of Southwest Louisiana, Denise Durel, will be a panelist for the Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI) and Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) region 5 tele-town hall. “COVID-19: Preparing for the Next Phase” is one of nine town halls each with local panelists.
Each event will be moderated by Shelina Davis, CEO of LPHI, and Earl Benjamin-Robinson, deputy director of LDH’s Office of Community Partnerships & Health Equity. The goal is to educate the community about COVID-19 related information and resources available to them as well as address concerns.
Region 5 Tele-town Hall will take place Thursday, May 14 at 4 pm.
Other region 5 panelists include Nic Hunter, Mayor of Lake Charles; Tony Guillory, Presiden, Calcasieu Parish Police Jury; JayVon Muhammad, CEO, SWLA Center for Health Services; Rev. Dr. Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr., Greater St. Mary Baptist Church; Dr. Lacey Cavanaugh, Regional Medical Director; Rev. Braylon Harris, Mount Olive Baptist Church.
The Region 5 Tele-town Hall will take place online Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm.
