United Way of Southwest Louisiana Awards Grant to Business and Workforce Recovery Solutions, Inc. for Counseling and Resource Assistance

LAKE CHARLES, LA, July 1 – United Way of Southwest Louisiana has awarded a grant to the nonprofit Business and Workforce Recovery Solutions. The project, Southwest LA Recovery Project for Small Businesses, Workers, and Families will assist community members with needs stemming from the pandemic and hurricanes of 2020.

“We recognize the emotional toll the past year has taken on our neighbors and family members,” explains Denise Durel, President and CEO of United Way of Southwest Louisiana. “Mental health is one of the last things people do for self-care and it is not a topic most people want to discuss. It can have a tremendous impact on your ability to get back on track following all of these devastating events. This project will give someone an all-around support and resource system and put them on the right track to being successful.”

Dr. Cathy Denison-Robert, MBA, the Executive Director of Business and Workforce Recovery Solutions, Inc. said, "We really appreciate this grant opportunity from the United Way of Southwest LA. This unique project is the first of its kind. This exciting project should be very beneficial to many impacted in Southwest LA."

Project details and start will be announced in July. For more information, see the Business and Workforce Recovery Solutions website.
