Imagination Library Program Kick-Off is a Huge Success

January 14, 2013, by admin

Westlake parents of young children didn't let inclement weather stop them from joining Sasol North America and United Way of Southwest Louisiana in kicking off the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. Approximately 75 families attended the event, which offered free books to children ages birth – five, courtesy of Sasol. Participating children will receive a carefully selected, developmentally appropriate book each month until they reach the age of five. Parents who registered their child can expect the first book to arrive at their home in March. The initial book each child receives is a special customized edition of the classic version of The Little Engine that Could with a letter from Dolly welcoming them to the program while expressing the excitement and joy that reading can bring. The remaining books will be tailored to the child's individual level. For more information about the program, contact Michelle McInnis at United Way of Southwest Louisiana at 433-1088.
