Lake Charles, LA - Tax season can be a stressful time – filing paper work, checking boxes, and adding up line items. But everyone knows that the stress is worth it in the end when you receive your refund. But did you know that you can take part of your refund and reinvest it back into your community?
United Way reaches more people through more non-profits and programs than any other, and through the Louisiana Association of United Way/LA 2-1-1 thousands of people around our state and in our community can find help when they need it most.
By calling 2-1-1, individuals can find resources across our region. LA 2-1-1 is a single access point that connects callers to information about critical health and human services available where they live. Whether it’s basic needs like clothing and food or the need for employment, LA 2-1-1 is an easy way to find or give help in our community.
It’s easier than ever to donate part of your tax refund to United Way. Simply tell your tax preparer that you wish to give part of your return while they are filing your Louisiana State Income Tax Return. On Schedule D, Line 14, you can designate a portion of your refund to the Louisiana Association of United Ways/LA 2-1-1. It’s an easy way to ensure that your friends, neighbors or family can continue to receive help when they need it most.
