We are changing the world right here at home through our mix of in-house Initiatives and funded partners. Together, we served over a million individuals since the pandemic. To be exact, 1,112,121 people!
United Way Southwest Louisiana has always believed in the strength of unity. We understand that it takes more than one person, organization, or effort to address the complex challenges facing our community. It takes all of us pooling our gifts, whether volunteering, a specific skill, a financial donation, or in-kind gifts, to make a significant impact.
Just as a mosaic comprises individual pieces to create a masterpiece, our community becomes more robust and vibrant when everyone contributes their piece and talent. Whether you’re a builder, a planner, a dreamer, or a doer, your unique gifts are crucial to our mission.
Throughout this campaign, "United Way's Got Talent" isn't just about showcasing our diverse talents; it's about leveraging those talents to uplift every corner of Southwest Louisiana. It's about showing that when we come together, we pool our resources and put our skills to work for the greater good; there's no challenge too big for us to tackle.

2023 Campaign Chair
I accepted the privilege of serving as the campaign chair for 2023 when I was approached by Denise without hesitation, even before learning about playing Sandy in the campaign video. I believe in providing individuals with the necessary tools to achieve their full potential and assisting those around us.
Promoting the "United is the Word" theme, videos, and the true meaning behind it was an honor. The residents of Southwest Louisiana have come together in more ways than I could have imagined. We have built a genuine community that supports one another and works hard.
Every contribution to United Way Southwest Louisiana generates positive change in someone's life, no matter how small. As such, we should all strive to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Catch The Feeling
Gregory P. Thibodeaux, director for business development at Turner Industries, assisted with the first Battle for the Paddle fundraiser and was the 2019 Leonard Richard Employee Campaign Chair (ECC) Awardee. Thibodeaux, an LSU graduate, will lead the community workplace giving campaigns with the 2022 theme of "Catch the Feeling."
"We are incredibly fortunate that we consistently attract dedicated community members who donate their time and talent to United Way of Southwest Louisiana," said Denise Durel, President and CEO. "These individuals are leaders who commit to our mission and four pillars: education, healthcare, economic mobility and basic needs. We are always grateful for their service as they help lead all of us forward after several devastating years."

Unite to Fight
Problems.
The ones most people don’t have the stomach for.
The ones nobody talks about at cocktail parties.
The ones that can’t be solved.
We go looking for them.
