There are a variety of volunteer roles available to be involved in the festival, including festival operations, Auction Committee, admissions, beverage/culinary serving opportunities and general ambassadors for wayfinding and guest relations. Volunteers can receive a free ticket depending upon the number of volunteer hours a volunteer can commit.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are a variety of volunteer roles available to be involved in the festival, including festival operations, Auction Committee, admissions, beverage/culinary serving opportunities and general ambassadors for wayfinding and guest relations.

You must be 21 years of age or older to volunteer for the festival. Volunteers receive a souvenir Louisiana Food and Wine Festival apron, souvenir glassware and an opportunity to enjoy the event in which they are volunteering after their shift ends – or even free event ticket opportunities, depending upon the number of volunteer hours a volunteer can commit.

Volunteer attire includes black pants/shorts/skirts with collared white shirts. Depending upon the event (seated dinners, brunch, etc. will require long pants and long-sleeved collared shirts). All volunteers are not allowed to drink any alcoholic beverages while volunteering, will be required to wear closed-toe shoes and must sign a waiver of liability.

Volunteer aprons and credentials will need to be removed before participating in event tastings. A special discount Promo code will be provided to volunteers for opportunities to purchase Louisiana Food and Wine Festival tickets. You will receive your promo code after signing-up for your volunteer shift.

There will be a mandatory attendance Volunteer Orientation Session scheduled on Tuesday September, 17, 2024 at 6:00pm at the United Way Southwest Louisiana, located at 815 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601. Each volunteer will receive their festival credentials and apron at the Volunteer Orientation session.

Volunteers that participate in a volunteer shift/role for Saturday, September 21 for the “Grand Tasting” or a total of 8 volunteer hours or more leading up to the Saturday, Grand Tasting or Sunday Jazz Brunch, will earn a FREE TICKET to Friday night, “Fire on the Lake”. Volunteers that donate their time for a shift/role for the “Fire on the Lake” event can earn one FREE TICKET to one of “Louisiana Inspired Master Classes” or the “Grand Tasting”. Experienced food & beverage volunteers that participate in a volunteer shift/role, serving food or beverages for “Louisiana’s Celebrity Chefs Wine Dinner” on Thursday, September 19 automatically earn TWO FREE TICKETS TO THE GRAND TASTING.
