Sulphur Kiwanis Club and United Way of Southwest Louisiana Adding Interactive Learning Activity for Young Children and Families to Area Park
United Way of Southwest Louisiana was able to build its first Born Learning Trail with the sponsorship of the Sulphur Kiwanis Club and assistance from SPAR. The installation will be ready for a grand opening on Wednesday, April 20 at noon in McMurry Park (300 South Hazel Street, Sulphur, La, 70663).
Through this effort, a caregiver and child can use the environment to generate thoughtful conversation. More than colorful metal signs, the interactive nature offers fun, active learning opportunities for young children. The signs feature English and Spanish.
The Sulphur Kiwanis Club sponsored this installation of the Born Learning Trail. Member Chris Foster, Southwest Louisiana President for Merchants and Farmers Bank along with current club president, Mitch Redd, have worked with Sulphur Parks and Recreation to get the signs installed in McMurry Park.
