Fishing Rodeo to benefit Veterans planned for October

United Way Southwest Louisiana, in partnership with the SWLA Veterans Association, is excited to announce that the second annual Reelin' For Warriors fishing rodeo will occur on Saturday, October 5. This unique event promises a day of enjoyment for families and aims to make a significant difference in the lives of local veterans who need home repairs.

The Reelin' For Warriors fishing rodeo, scheduled for October 5, will attract regional fishing enthusiasts and local supporters. With various categories of prizes up for grabs, this is a great opportunity for the community to show its support for local veterans who have selflessly served our nation.

The Reelin' For Warriors fishing rodeo is designed to be inclusive, catering to seasoned anglers and those new to the sport. With categories for boat, kayak and shore fishing, the event is accessible to everyone interested in fishing. Lake Charles Tackle and Ship to Shore Co, both well-regarded establishments within the fishing community, are accepting registrations. Thanks to a partnership with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, the awards ceremony will be held at Prien Lake Park, ensuring a day filled with fun, laughter, and family bonding.

Participants in the 2-Man team division for Reelin' For Warriors fishing rodeo will be able to put their boats in the water at any location on October 5th, allowing them to explore a wide range of fishing spots. However, to ensure fair competition and to qualify for prizes, all participants must bring their catch to Prien Lake Park by 2:00 PM on the day of the event.
