United Way Southwest Louisiana Mobilizes Support For Hurricane Francine Communities in Houma & Thibodeaux

United Way Southwest Louisiana’s Disaster Relief Fund Activated for Swifter Response

UNITEDGULF to 40403In light of Hurricane Francine's devastating impacts, we are extending our support to United Way for South Louisiana, building on the solid foundation of mutual assistance established in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. United Way for South Louisiana was a beacon of support following Hurricanes Laura and Delta, leading the efforts to promptly assist United Way Southwest Louisiana.

To further bolster the relief efforts in response to Hurricane Francine, United Way Southwest Louisiana has activated its Disaster Relief Fund for other Gulf partners. This fund is instrumental in offering immediate and long-term support to the communities ravaged by natural disasters, continuing a legacy of resilience and recovery that has been vital since before Hurricane Laura.

We call on the community and donors nationwide to contribute to the UNITED GULF Disaster Relief Fund, ensuring timely aid reaches those severely affected by the hurricane. Contributions can be facilitated through several methods:

- Online at unitedwayswla.org/donate

- By texting UNITEDGULF to 40403

- Or by mailing to 815 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA

In a collaborative effort, we have partnered with Marshal Nate Keller's office and successfully coordinated truckloads of ice and water on their way to Houma this morning, responding to the immediate needs for clean drinking water and cooling supplies.

Furthermore, United Way Southwest Louisiana accepts in-kind donations, with a dedicated online form available at unitedwayswla.org/inkind to manage these contributions efficiently.
