Battle for the Paddle 2023 is heating up!

United Way of Southwest Louisiana’s Jambalaya & Pastalaya Cook-Off, Battle for the Paddle, will be a wee bit o’ fun for the second year with two competition divisions, a kids zone, live music by LA ROXX and, of course, green beer. The St. Patrick’s Day themed event will also feature a Best Costume Award and other crowd surprises on Thursday, March 16 at the Lake Charles Civic Center Amphitheatre. No ticket will be required for the concert or kids zone that kick off at 5 pm.

Music and Kids Zone is from 5 pm – 8 pm

Two cook-off divisions, Jambalaya and Pastalaya, are available for registration. Teams can compete in either the Jambalaya or Pastalaya Division or both. To enter one division is a fee of $500 and entering two divisions is $750. To enter a team or learn more, visit unitedwayswla.org/battle.

A limited number of VIP Lounge tickets for $50 are available now at unitedwayswla.org/battle or by texting SHAMROCK to 40403. VIP tickets allow entrance to a stadium lounge area with seating, beer, wine, water and unlimited jambalaya and pastalaya during the LA ROXX performance from 5 to 8 pm. Only those 21 and up are able to visit the VIP Lounge.

Sampler tickets are $15 with Student tickets at $10 and are available now at unitedwayswla.org/battle or by texting SHAMROCK to 40403. Student tickets are for anyone attending an educational institution from college down to elementary. Veterans tickets are $10 and First Responders tickets are $10. All Sampler tickets enable the guest to unlimited jambalaya and pastalaya from 5 to 8 pm during the concert. Drinks may be purchased separately at the event. Tickets on sale now.
