United Way Southwest Louisiana announces the inaugural ALICE Summit of Louisiana, scheduled for March 26, 2025, focusing on raising awareness and supporting the hardworking individuals in our community grappling with financial instability. This critical event will take place at L’Auberge Lake Charles, welcoming community leaders, policymakers, and advocates dedicated to fostering change.
The ALICE initiative—an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed—spotlights those who, despite their dedication and hard work, struggle to afford basic necessities. In our community, these individuals are often one unexpected expense away from financial disaster. The summit aims to amplify their voices, highlight systemic challenges, and ignite collaborative solutions that promote economic stability in Southwest Louisiana and beyond.
The summit will feature renowned national speakers and panel discussions, including leaders from prominent businesses and legislative representatives, who will engage in critical conversations about improving conditions for the ALICE population. Participants will have the chance to connect with like-minded advocates and explore actionable strategies for change.
