After graduating with a concentration in Visual Arts and Business Management, Tami Chrisope began working in nonprofit leadership in the live entertainment presenting world and an educational arts outreach program for local schools. As a hardworking single mother, she successfully organized wine and food fundraisers and university events for almost twenty years.
In 2018, she shifted her focus from helping children without access to quality arts education to assisting community members who lack the building blocks necessary for a successful life. Tami was offered a position in marketing and communications in the nonprofit human services area, which she gladly accepted.
She started as Director of Marketing and Communications but has since been promoted to Vice President, becoming the first person to hold that position at United Way Southwest Louisiana. Tami is an alumna of McNeese State University, Leadership Southwest Louisiana and the UWW LEAD Program.
She is a proud mother of two sons and a grandmother to one little girl.
